AgroTerra presented its management tools

07.12.2022

“Personnel in the Agro-Industrial Complex”, the first annual professional conference dedicated to human resources issues in agriculture, was held in Moscow on November 22 and 23. Evgenia Yureneva, HR director at AgroTerra, attended the event. She discussed how AgroTerra boosted the involvement of managers in HR processes and demonstrated Farm Passport. Farm Passport is a tool developed for production that contains all the information a manager might need, from crop rotation history and equipment downtime to employee turnover and engagement.

Representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, large agricultural companies, secondary and higher education, industry associations, and consulting firms attended the conference. They gathered to discuss current challenges in the agro-industrial complex (AIC), such as attracting and retaining qualified personnel, as well as market problems and solutions.

"HR is changing in response to the challenges that business faces. And business in our industry is growing rapidly. As HR, we must be more proactive to anticipate the needs of our production unit. AgroTerra assessed the maturity of its HR processes and identified changes to the manager's role in HR processes as one of our top priorities. As a first step, we decided to develop tools to help our managers understand their role in the results," Evgenia Yureneva stated.

Farm Passport became the first such tool developed by AgroTerra to track performance progress during the season. It is now a datamart with HR, production, and financial data and KPIs. The tool is also designated for territory directors and operational efficiency managers. In the near future, we expect our farm directors to be among the most active users.

"We often say that we cannot reach ambitious goals without a results-oriented team that believes in itself and is willing to meet challenges and change. That is why it is difficult to overestimate the importance of HR transformation. It means that HR processes and approaches should be constantly developing to provide the business with solutions and helpful tools," Evgenia concluded.
