AgroTerra encourages its employees to participate in sports

14.12.2022

In the summer of 2022, AgroTerra launched sports challenges for its employees in Moscow. As a result, employees ran nearly 2,000 kilometers, cycled over 800 kilometers, and swam more than 50 kilometers. Coworkers encouraged each another by sharing their achievements and organizing group runs and cycle races. Everyone was so impressed with the results that they asked that a winter sports challenge be launched and expanded to the Kursk office.

AgroTerra employees have been sharing photos and videos of their training sessions, inviting each other to marathons, and taking quizzes in an internal sports chat room since the spring. The chat room has also been filled with challenges for both beginners and advanced athletes, such as "complete a standard," "try a new sport," and "participate in an official start." Photos, videos, screenshots of itineraries, and training session records recorded by sports watches were used as proof of challenges progress. The company rewarded employees for their accomplishments with branded souvenirs.

AgroTerra employees' favorite sports are not by chance racing, swimming, and cycling - the company has its own triathlon team that competes at Ironman every year. As it turns out, colleagues also enjoy sailing, dancing, tennis, badminton, and a variety of other sports.

"After a long period of hybrid work, we noticed that our people needed more communication, so we decided to help with it," said Evgenia Yureneva, HR director at AgroTerra. "Training together, or even simply supporting improves work-life balance, allows us to get to know one another better, and even becomes a motivation to stay active.”

There are around 50 people working in the Moscow office of AgroTerra, but not everyone in the Moscow office was able to participate in the challenges. Therefore, the company will launch a new series of winter sports challenges in December. Employees from the Kursk and Voronezh offices will also be able to join their colleagues in Moscow.
