The Governor of the Kursk region acknowledged AgroTerra’s achievements in seed and hybrid production
The readiness of the region to the upcoming seeding campaign and the tasks ahead of the agricultural sector this year were discussed at the meeting chaired by the Governor Roman Starovoit, as reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.
"Despite the challenging economic situation resulting from sanctions pressure and difficult weather conditions, the region achieved a record crop harvest of over 6 million tons last year. According to other indicators, such as crop and livestock production, Kursk region is also at the forefront," said Roman Starovoit.
Special attention in the Kursk region is given to increasing the production of import-dependent products like fruits, potatoes and vegetables. Domestic seed production is actively developing, including AgroTerra producing hybrids. Currently, 70% of hybrid seeds are imported from abroad, which is why localization of production is so important. Kursk farmers allocated approximately 5 thousand hectares for the production of sunflower and corn hybrid seed.
